No tickets. No registration. The recital is open to everyone — just come.
What the night is like
The candles
The room is lit entirely by candles — no stage lights. When the music starts, it’s the flame and the sound, and not much else.
The program
Ashley has put together a program for this one evening — music for flute, played once, by candlelight, and not repeated.
The reception
After the last note the candles stay lit: a reception with something to drink, and time to talk — with Ashley, and with everyone else who came.
No students perform. Just candles, an audience, and one program, played once.
A Recital by Candlelight
A flute recital with Ashley Mendeke, performed by candlelight. A reception follows.

Beacon, New Yorkseating is first come, first served
No retreat participants perform — this is a concert, not a class.
Come early, stay late
Beacon is an easy place to spend an evening. Main Street is a short walk from the river — dinner, cafés, galleries, vintage shops — and the waterfront at dusk is the same view as our homepage.
If you’d like dinner first, book ahead — October Saturdays fill up on Main Street.
This evening closes the first night of the Hudson Valley Flute Retreat — come just for the recital, or stay for the whole weekend.
